How to Record and Replay Gridsmart Images

Modified on Sun, 12 Jul at 1:51 PM

Record

  1. Begin with a freshly NTFS-formatted USB hard drive. The Samsung T5 or T7 1TB drive is recommended. A single fisheye camera can require up to 100GB per day.

  2. Log into the Device Manager and navigate to "Settings -> Removable Media". Ensure USB is Enabled.

  3. Connect the USB drive to a USB port on the Gridsmart Processor and observe the USB Activity light. Data will be copied onto the device and images will start being recorded. For large capacity devices (>128GB), images will be stored at a rate of 5-10 images per second until the drive is full. For small capacity devices, images will be stored at approximately 1 image per second for only three minutes.

  4. To disconnect the USB device from the Processor, repeat Step 2 and ensure USB is Disabled. Once the USB is disabled, unplug the device.

Review with Replay

  1. Connect the USB Drive to your computer and launch the Gridsmart App.

  2. Select the Site Card that corresponds to the data you want to review so that you are taken to the Site View Screen.

  3. Select Replay from the Site Menu. You will be presented with the Replay data selector which will allow you to select one hour of data for review at a time from all data available on the connected USB Drive.

  4. Use the playback controls to review the hour of data. Press the red stop button when done.
