Product: | Bell Camera |
Notice Type: | Known Issue |
Audience: | Customer Traffic Engineer, Signal Techs, FAEs, Distributor |
Important Note:
Cubic is developing a permanent solution for the root cause of this issue. In the meantime, a patch is now available to provide a detection failsafe.
Issue:
During certain environmental scenarios that create significant contrast changes within the camera scene for the Bell Camera (i.e. snow). The contrast fluctuation prevents the system from properly detecting vehicles. The system assumes detection is functioning normally and will not place the zones managed by the affected camera into recall.
Solutions:
- Download and install the Camera Contrast Patch from gridsmartcloud.com
- Update will automatically enable the Detector Failsafe mode when vehicles are not properly detected by placing the intersection into recall.
- Once environmental conditions change and normal vehicle detection resumes, the failsafe mode will automatically disable, resuming normal system operation.
- Removing some or all of the Roadmask may allow the system to properly evaluate the scene contrast and allow detection to resume.
- If all or some of the Roadmask is removed because of an environmental factor, replace Roadmask when the environment returns to a normal state.
- Put the system in recall. This will allow the intersection to continue safe operation. Once environmental conditions improve, remove the recall and resume normal operation.
