GRIDSMART 22.2 Changelog

PREREQUISITES: GRIDSMART Processors must first be updated to 21.3 or later.

CRITICAL NOTE ABOUT THE UPDATE: This update will take less than 10 minutes to complete. It includes both low-level firmware updates as well as security updates to the underlying operating system. Upon reboot, it may take several minutes for the system to start up while the operating system updates are applied, with both the STATUS and CAMSTAT LEDs flashing during this time.

DO NOT DISRUPT THE SYSTEM DURING THIS TIME.

When the update is complete, it will be indicated in two ways:

  • The phase LEDs on the front of the processor will all turn green.
  • The Web App displays a progress bar during the update that will show that the update has completed and the system is rebooting.

NEW: Adds the Stream Recording feature to the GS3 GRIDSMART System and High Capacity models. GS3 High Capacity is available for scenarios where recording longer periods of video is required. Streams or Performance Plus license is required. Streams is included with High Capacity.

Improvement: Stream Recording for the GS3 and GS2 is now disabled by default and must be enabled by the user. This is to prevent unintentional recording on systems where stream recording is not desired.

FIX: Resolves an issue where applying an update for the wrong Processor type – applying a GS2 update to a GS3 or vice-versa – would fail and require a power cycle. The updater now includes a check to verify it’s running on the correct hardware. If the hardware type does not match, it will notify the user with a message that the update was attempted on the wrong GRIDSMART Processor type and is being aborted. To avoid confusion, the update files will be named with the intended Processor type going forward. ex: “GS3-Online-Update.bin”

FIX: Fixes a bug that prevented the GS3 from connecting to GRIDSMART Cloud when GRIDSMART Cloud connectivity is enabled, the built-in cell modem is enabled, and the Processor is connected to a Local Area Network.

FIX: Resolves an issue where Bike count data wasn’t being synced with GRIDSMART Cloud.

FIX: Resolves an bug in Factory Reset that prevented some files from being deleted. There are no known side effects to this behavior.

FIX: Fixes an issue that caused downloading logs from the Web App to timeout and fail due to large file size.

FIX: Fixes a rare issue that caused cameras to be misconfigured and only run at 5 FPS when they should run at 10 FPS.

FIX: Fixes an issue where Vehicle zones configured to send Zone Activated alerts could trigger an excessive number of false alerts. Requires a publish for this fix to take effect.

FIX: Fixes a bug where checking or unchecking “Auto-refresh image every 5 seconds?” applied to all cameras instead of just the camera being modified.

FIX: Fixes a bug in the Desktop App installer that caused it to hang for a long time when installing on a PC enrolled in an Active Directory domain.

FIX: Fixes a bug on the GS2 that caused the system to send ping requests to a local area network.

FIX: Fixes an issues where JPEG images attached to email alerts were missing the file extension.

FIX: Fixes text in the Web App initial password setup view that said “GS2” on a GS3 processor.

FIX: Fixes an issue where the log files were not rotated out after a 7 day period on the GS3 and would exceed storage limits. This was causing some users issues where the GS3 became unresponsive and would get stuck in a boot loop. For further details see: Issue: Excessive Log File Entries Causing GS3 to Become Unresponsive
