The GRIDSMART Processor provides 24 inputs and 24 outputs. The I/O is optically isolated to provide protection against transients as well as to prevent ground loops. The I/O characteristics are:

Green Phase Inputs

    - Input voltage 16 to 30 VDC (Never connect the Green Phase Input wires to the high voltage 110V-120V terminals)

    - Common whetting voltage

    - Active low

    - DB-25 connector

Vehicle Detector Outputs

    - Output voltage 16 to 30 VDC

    - Common voltage return (Logic Ground)

    - Active low

    - DB-25 connector

TS1 input and output harnesses connect the Processor to the traffic cabinet’s terminal facility. Refer to the traffic cabinet's schematic to locate the appropriate terminals.

The definitions for the Green Phase Inputs to the Processor are defined in the table below. The system software requires the information defined below to be connected to the proper terminal facility.

INPUTS ARE +24VDC LOW VOLTAGE. DO NOT CONNECT INPUT WIRES TO HIGH VOLTAGE PINS.

TS1 Output Connections

The output connections from the GRIDSMART Processor are listed below. The system will place calls on the output pins as defined by the user in the GRIDSMART Client. The user must define which outputs are associated with each phase. The table below are the recommended connections.

THE OUTPUT WIRES ARE CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE DETECTOR PINS ON THE CABINET BACK PANEL.
